Tucker in the sunshine

Sketch a day - Day 85/365

Today it's go and go and go. Meetings about the marketing for Otherhood and emails about Old Bird company fandango.

Then later I am off to a networking event which I am a bit nervous about. Because networking is not something I find easy. Meeting lots of new people and yikes. But, sometimes we have to face our fears. So. Yep. I am going.

Anyway, amongst the busy stuff there is a hard learnt knowledge that if I don't prioritise rest/fun my body goes ‘no’ and I end up in a fix. Thats living with long COVID for you.

So today I have taken a chunk of the afternoon to stop working and worrying to do some fun with Tucker.

We went to the park and he ran around chasing balls (yes balls. As Tucker loves chasing them but is still getting his head around returning them. Which means I have to collect them. It goes a bit like this. I throw ball A, Tucker chases it, picks it up, runs around a bit and then spits it out. I then throw ball B. Tucker chases ball B. While he moves to get ball B and spit it out, I walk towards ball A. Then halfway there, I throw Ball C. Tucker now chases ball C. While he does this, I pick up ball A and then move towards ball B. By now Tucker has found and spat out ball C. So then it's time to throw ball A again and the process begins again).THIS is one of Tucker all time favourite way to spend time. After ball time, we did some training, walking towards the rail station, sitting and having some treats as close as we could comfortably get. THIS is one of Tucker’s least favourite thing in the world, as he is scared of the train station. But he was brave and we got a step or two closer. Good boy. Along the way we saw alot of neighbours, which meant me catching up with folks while Tucker tried to remember his manners. This was hard. Tucker’s manners are a bit hit and miss. He did a lot of shouting, yelling at me to ‘leave these losers and let's get on with some fun already’. So that led me to asking him to chill out and be polite. He tried really hard. It took a lot of will power and so turned into a pretty full on training session in itself (we met 3 different people). Tucker did good (mostly). Then we came home and I did this quick sketch of him as he lat in the sun in our living room.

Right now, he’s grumbling in his sleep, leaning in to me as I type this into my phone. He likes a lean.

All in all - Tucker is a lot but he is also a real love and hanging out with him is (mostly) as good as a rest.

That's the news.
