Sketch a Day - Day 100/365

I will be honest. Today has been one of those days where I looked at my watch and it was 2pm and next thing I know, the dog and cat were staging a protest, asking where the hell their tea was? Which is when I realised, that somehow it was 6pm already. And how?

How?

And now it's almost 10pm.

The whole day disappeared.

Sand through my fingers.

All the things that needed to happen today have not happened. And some more st be done tonight and some have got shunted into tomorrow. Which is not ideal because tomorrow has a lot promised to it already.

Under pressure, I wondered if today might be the day I just throw in the towel and admit that it is not always possible to do a sketch a day.

But then I remembered that today is day 100.

And that's not even a 3rd of the way through this challenge*. Even so, to decide not to draw sketch 100 would have been wrong.

So, against all good reason, I have sketched a pigeon that was having a good look around from the top of a lamppost yesterday.

The new flat digital lamp heads look like they have been designed as Pigeon landing pads. They are just the right size. The pigeon sat there for ages, extremely content. There is some justice in this world. Even if it happens by accident.

But I must not sit here for ages, because thing still must be done before I can call time on this day.

Did I mention it's day 100!

I am pretty pleased I have made it this far.

And that's the news.

*I worked it out. When I reach day 121 I will have done a sketch every day for a 3rd of the year. If you picture a cake - chocolate, old skool, you can forget the red velvet fandango. Just a lovely, two tier choc cake with choc fondent filling and melted then hardened, choc on the top, giving a satisfying crack when you bite into it - now imagine a slice of said cake that = a 1/3. What I will say is, that's quite an impressive slice. I would certainly say yes to a 3rd of a slice of chocolate cake right now. Maybe if I get to day 121 I shall have a choc cake to celebrate. We shall see.
