Unprecedented
Sketch a day - Day 93/365
As the unprecedented becomes a daily occurrence, will the word eventually come to mean it's opposite?
Like precisely or literally.
Today it was tariffs. Yesterday it was Israel. Tomorrow who knows? Probably Israel again. At the rate things are going.
Could we care less about the atrocity upon atrocity that daily unfolds there?
It seems, yes. We are capable of caring a little less everyday.
Still, spring doesn’t bat an eye lid.
It sashayed in, choosing to ignore human bullshit, violences, hypocracy, political posturing, mean spirited vanity, propensity for lying, chest beating and all the worst things that some humans do.
That more humans do than I wish were true.
So much handwringing.
Spring doesn't care. Doesn't give a fuck. What? Spring says. What exactly is that look for? Spring doesn't wait for an answer.
Spring is entirely oblivious to all the breaking of imaginary markets, with imagined powers and magics, money hexes and gold gold gold.
Spring is oblivious to it all.
Instead, spring decided to focus all it's attention on keeping on coming all day.
All the greens and yellows of new, unruly life, screaming into being. Just for the fuck of it.
Life wants to live.
Life this unbridled holds a kind of power that fully looked at is entirely terrifying.
What if we really let spring into our bones and hearts?
We would become something unrecognisable. Unstoppable. Unrepentant. Unprepared to allow the nonsense that constantly distracts us to stop us for a second longer.
We might actually become something holy and wholly unprecedented.
