Magnolia
Sketch a day - Day 97/365
There is something about the too brief, delicate beauty of magnolia at flowering time, that makes me feel that emotion that is slap bang in the middle between grief, sadness, love and awe.
I recently discovered that the Japanese have a word that goes someway towards describing that feeling. Yūgen.
I love that the word for this feeling has been hanging around for me to discover all this time.
I love that feeling of knowing that there are so many ‘dont know I don't know a thing’ things that put there and which might, if I am lucky, reveal themselves.
All in their own good time.
And that's the news.
