Sketch a day - Day 92/365
Today I spent the morning getting team notes on the next steps for the drafting of the Otherhood play (we had Vicky Ackroyd our access expert and Dan Bye who is working as our dramaturg in too). Then after this, I had another hour of - next priorities - type thinking with Dan.
The offer of great notes (thank you to everyone) and thinking and wondering and feeling out the shape of new possibilities for a piece, is exciting. It is also really tiring. And so I decided to let the conversation settle this afternoon.
I took my crayons out into the garden and I drew spring’s arrival (trusting that lots of stuff about the play is beginning to churn in the back of my brain).
I can't believe how much the garden has changed since yesterday. Incredible. New buds, leaves, flowers everywhere. There has been a great throwing up of life in just 24 hours. Amazing.
Before I went out, I did a warm up sketch of my guitars.
Most times my warm up sketches are piles of mess. Sometimes they are piles of mess, that I find I like (despite the mess). Today, this warm up drawing really pleased me. I am not sure why.
Sometimes, drawing just goes like that.
And that's the news.
